POTD(ish) #46 - The Bridge

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. I took a week off when my parents came to visit and between that, by son's 5th birthday, work, and other photographic endeavors, I have neglected this blog. I'm sure I'll make up for it soon.

I was recently asked to make a photograph that captures something about Waco. The brief originally stated a skyline, but since Waco's skyline is exactly one building, I thought I'd try a different tack.

There is nothing more iconic in Waco than the suspension bridge that crosses the Brazos River. That's why, when my dad came down to visit from Virginia, we grabbed our cameras on a clear night and headed down to Indian Springs Park. It was a beautiful night for photography. I had originally hoped for some clouds to add texture to the sky, but it was such a vibrant blue at that hour, I would have hated to have anything detract from it.

Here is one of my dad's images from the same night.
